Finding God

If you seek me you will find me, if you seek me with your whole heart.

Jeremiah 29:13

Where is God? The question emanates from those around me. I see their longing, their desire for peace, the feeling deep down that there is something more. But they still haven’t experienced the life changing power of Christ and wonder why? The assumption soon rises perhaps it is what it is. I can’t dwell on something I can’t change, so I will just enjoy this life, and hope everything works itself out at the end.

Unfortunately, we can’t wait till the end to make amends with God. We have to make proactive steps now to receive His presence and solidify our hope in what is to come. How do we do this? We have to start seeking after God with zeal with the knowledge that our life depends on it because it does. We must start putting ourselves in a position to experience God, and truly seek after Him. He is not hiding. God is omnipresent, He is everywhere. Yet, when we go about our daily activities, it is easy to lose sight of Him, so we need to put ourselves where God is the focus. Like anything that is worth having, it usually takes work and dedication, but don’t give up, it is definitely worth the commitment.

Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere; I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked.

Psalm 84:10

God is Not Hiding

Jesus’ earthly parents went on their annual trip to the feast of Passover. Upon returning home, they hadn’t realized that Jesus wasn’t among their company. They anxiously searched for him and finally found Him back in Jerusalem talking among the teachers at the temple.  They were hurt and worried after three days searching for Him, but Jesus response was, “

Why were you searching for me?” he asked. “Didn’t you know I had to be in my Father’s house?”

Luke 2:49

So How Does this Faith Grow?

So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Romans 10:17

  1. Reading your Bible
  2. Praying
  3. Going to Church
  4. Bible Study
  5. Fellowshipping with those who believe
  6. Listening to Christian music
  7. Not filling your mind with garbage and things contrary to God.

Fill yourself with things that encourage your faith, not discourage it.

Don’t Grow Complacent

In a world that tries to take the one true God out of the equation, make a conscience effort to seek after Him. Don’t grow complacent with the day-to-day activities that can so easily eat up all our time.  We have one life to live, long for that peace and joy that only comes from a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and the knowledge that there is an eternal home in heaven.

Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me.
