If Your Time on Here Earth Were Up, Are You Confident Where You Would Go?
Blink. The moment has passed. Someone else has run out of time. The specific number of days that only God knows, yet because of the busyness of life procrastination trumps the most important decision. Where will you spend eternity?
Do you believe in Jesus Christ and trust Him as your Lord and Savior? No matter what is on your schedule I pray these are the questions you take time today to think about. My prayer is that the people who know me, will be able to look past my imperfections and realize that the God that I serve is real.
It is so easy to fill our calendar with appointments from start to finish. Busyness appears to be our biggest asset, even though salvation and eternity fall by the wayside. There is no doubt that today has enough stuff to consume us, so rather than acknowledging the uncertainty of things you feel you can’t change you continue to fill up your schedule.
But heres the thing… You can change the outcome. Free will comes at a cost. It allows us to choose or deny salvation that is freely given to us.
Everyday is a new day. Every moment is a new moment. If you had doubts in the past, if you did wrong, if you feel like you have fallen short. Join the club. These are all part of the process that leads us to realize our need for a Savior greater than who we are.
You can’t change your mind after you leave this earth and realize a moment too late that you made the wrong choice. It’s a scary place my friend to be unsure of your salvation. Salvation cannot be bought, borrowed, or faked. It is given to us by grace when we humble ourselves before a God that knew us in the womb, and acknowledge that we are sinners in need of Him. True salvation is not only a personal authentication but also an outward acknowledgement that Jesus is Lord.
For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.
John 3:16
Beautiful. Simple. Life changing.
He changes us. He fills us and sustains us. All you have to do is take God at His word. You may question, “How do I know that Jesus is the truth with so many theologies out there?” I can tell you that God has CHANGED me and continues to lead and guide me. As clear as if someone asks me how many fingers do I have, is the certainty I have for a loving God who invests and pours purpose into His creation. His personalized love for me sustains my love and faith for Him.
Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere; I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked.
Psalm 84:10
God offers hope and peace, He offers the realization that we belong to a God that loves us personally, and wants to fill us with the peace and joy we all long for. Relinquishing the fear that eternal death is inevitable, and transforming that fear to hope.
Since the children have flesh and blood, He too shared in their humanity so that by His death He might break the power of Him who holds the power of death–that is, the devil–and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death.
Hebrews 2:14-15
Your soul is important to God. You are important to God. Choose today whom you will believe in. I really hope you choose Christ, and would love to hear if you did!
