Seeking After the Prize with Perseverance
You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.
Jeremiah 29:13
A parent/child relationship parallels our relationship with our Heavenly Father so beautifully it is hard to ignore.
My daughter just started crawling; wherever I am in the house, she will find me. Her determination makes my heart soar, because I am her sought after prize. She huffs and puffs, crawling until she can’t push any farther. She rests for a second and then keeps on going.
One day, I was in the kitchen doing dishes, and I hear her move. Crawl, crawl, crawl, stop. Crawl, crawl, crawl, stop. Finally, she reaches her destination with a smile on her face that could light the darkest cavern. All her energy spent over the pursuit. I sweep down to pick her up. There is insurmountable joy in my heart over my daughters love and determination to find me.
I am overwhelmed by the love of a child. Their innocence, their pure love that is contagious.
I stop and ponder the fact that God desires that same relationship with us.
Lets seek after God with the same determination
God is always here, we just have to look for Him.
So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.
Luke 11:9
We should seek God with our whole heart.
Love the Lord your God with ALL your heart and with ALL your soul and with ALL your strength and with ALL your mind’; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’
Luke 10:27
We should keep on seeking after God, until we see Him face to face in Heaven.
The Lord looked down from Heaven upon the children of men to see if there was any that did understand, and seek God.
Psalm 14:2
Wrap Up
Oh that our hearts would yearn for God as a child yearns for their parents! We need to persevere through this waiting period of life, looking for God through the every day, receiving His love and looking for ways to offer Him love in return through seeking His face and glorifying His name.
